The COVID19 Pandemic has plagued the nation as well as the world which caught everyone ill-equipped.
In this trying times, MOELCI I together with the Philippine Rural Electric Cooperatives Association, Inc. (PHILRECA) and the One EC Network Foundation, Inc. has concerted its efforts to uphold the welfare of our Member-Consumer-Owners (MCOs) and fellow Filipinos to alleviate its burden and sufferings.
As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), MOELCI I has implemented the Pantawid-Liwanag Program in order to mitigate the financial problems of our MCOs for their daily needs. This program granted a free electric service to all MCOs with 1-15 kilowatt hours consumption for the month of April, 2020 that benefited a total of 16,799 MCOs with a total consumption of 115,140 kilowatt hours with a total amount of Php 970,385.80 throughout the area coverage of the Cooperative – the municipalities of Aloran, Lopez Jaena, Plaridel, Calamba, Sapang Dalaga, Baliangao, Concepcion and the City of Oroquieta.
We believe that this initiative has contributed much to the government’s move to provide the basic necessities, goods and protection against the COVID19 to our frontliners and the burdened Filipino workers/MCOs.
